Installing SP1 Problems

Hi there, I hope I am in the right place to ask this question, I really need
help!

I read the instructions about installing SP1 and found out that three
critical updates are needed before installing. I don't have an internet
connection and have been going to friend to download things I need. Then I
transfer them on a memory stick and install them. I downloaded the three
updates, but then found out that there is a problem on some computers with
KB937287, which causes the computer to endlessly reboot. Then it was
withdrawn from the MS site. So now I am not sure whether to install any of
these or not.

Then I posted this question on various forums. One said that I don't need
the three critical updates if I am installing the standalone version on SP1
because they are included in that version. Another one said I can't update
Vista at all if I don't have my own internet connection.

I am not sure what to do, please can someone help!

You should install the standalone since it contains the three you might
need.

Why do you need SP1 if you don't have an internet connection? You should
wait until you get an internet connection and then wait until Windows Update
offers it to prevent conflicts.

I would listen to Mark and not Mark Ferguson. The one you get with
Windows Update can tell what software and anything else that is
installed on your system and it tailors the service pack for your
system. At least that is the way I understand it.
