installing sp2 for Windows XP

I had to reinstall my windows XP after a crash....now I can't seem to load
Service Pack 2?

I'm reading everything lots of good tips but when I go to windows update it
keeps telling me to get Windows installer 3.1 and it is already on my
compute...??

Do you have version 2 installed?

Hello Anneliese,

Locate your file msi.dll (with search if you are not sure where it's
located) and confirm what the version is, either from it's properties or just
passing your cursor over it. If it's not the latest which is 3.1.4000.2435,
then:

Install Windows Installer 3.1 v2 (3.1.4000.2435) is availªble here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893803

I did get the W I 3.1 but the sp 2 keeps getting rejected I sent for the CD
so Keep your fingers crossed.

Did manage to get the W I 3.1 but still get rejected for sp2 so I have sent
for the disc and hope that works...thanks
