Hello,
I would like to take a look at the Wcesetup.log. I would appreciate if you
could mail it to me.
"SetupCopyOEMInf failed with error: 13"
This is an error generated by the Setup Application Programming Interface
(API). For detailed information about this function you can refer to the
following MSDN article ---
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...copyoeminf.asp
Basically, the SetupCopyOEMInf function copies a specified INF file to the
%windir%/Inf directory. I believe the error 13 refers to "The data is
invalid." (Not very certain though). I had it looked up the System Error
Codes.
A .INF file is a setup information text file and it is used to extend the
setup process using internal setup engine of the operating system. I
suggest you try the following ---
1. On your computer Click Start -> Run and type
%windir%/Inf
2. Click Ok and a Window will appear displaying various INF/PNF files.
3. Sort by "Name" and view the listing in "Detail", so that all information
about the file is visible.
4. Locate OEMx.inf and OEMx.PNF (where x is any number) files that
are zero bytes long. Delete all zero byte OEMx.INF and OEMx.PNF
files in this folder.
5. Reboot and then try reinstalling ActiveSync.
I am not aware of any sync software that can be used as a substitute to
Activesync since most of the leading sync software needs Activesync to be
installed first. An exception would be PocketMac, however, it is designed
for Macintosh operating system.
I sincerely hope this helps solving the problem of yours. Good luck !!
