I have MS XL In June 2006 an Update 914389 was downloaded this did not
install and subseqently stopped all further updates installing. I have got
around the problem by using advanced installation and ignoring 914389 when
installing. How can I get rid of this file so that I can continue with auto

RPC_S_INVALID_LEVEL The version, level, or flags parameter is invalid.

Show hidden files, folders, and system files:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tuto...l62.html#winxp

Please check the following locations to determine if
mrxsmb.sys is present and it's Version level.
When you locate the files, right click them, choose Properties, and then
click the Version tab.
Please post the Version numbers of *all* mrxsmb.sys into your reply:

WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i386
WINDOWS\system32\dllcache
WINDOWS\system32\drivers

Is this XP Pro or Home Edition ?
Which antivirus/security suite is installed ?
