when installing updates nothing happens

I am trying to install updates but it says installing updates and then
nothing happens.

What can I do?

How to view the Update log in Windows
Open Internet Explorer and either type or copy and then paste this into the Address
bar:


for V5:

%windir%\windowsupdate.log

for V4

%windir%\windows update.log


Scroll down towards the bottom for the latest entries to locate the error code(s)
associated with the latest failed attempt to download.

Hi Esther, you have two error codes that I can pick out


80004002 - I don't have any information on that one.

A very common cause for that error number is Steganos Internet Anonym.

If you have that application installed, uninstall it (seems disabling it doesn't
work, the program must be uninstalled) and see if that resolves the problem.
