Installshield gives message 1607 "unable to install Installshield scripting
runtime" . I tried some of the fixes at
http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108340, but the problem
continues.. The instructions there are oriented to Windows XP, so I could not
do fix 1. I did do fixes 2 and 3. Other install files work on this computer
and the install program also works properly on an XP machine.

See if this helps:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910816/

"This issue may occur if the user account that you use to install the
program does not have administrative rights." Try right-clicking on
"Setup.exe", and choosing Run as Adminstrator.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried that and also running it in XP compatability
mode.
