"Instruction at 0x75f184fd referenced memory at 0x00000000" ???

Vista Ultimate, SP1

New behavior: When shutting down on reboot, I get an error referring to
Internet Explorer (or was it Windows Explorer?) saying:

"Instruction at 0x75f184fd referenced memory at 0x00000000" and something
about not being able to shut down the program. I have to tell it to shut
down anyway.

Whazzup with that?
