I have windows vista home premium and I get an error alert that says the
Intel Alert service stopped working and was closed, A problem caused the
application to stop working correctly, windows will notify you if a solution
is available. Windows did not notify me of a solution.

Has anyone got a solution.

I sent e-mail to Microsoft and they did not tell me what to do, they told me
to go to this location and etc to find the answer. What a lousy way to run
railroad, however I could call microsoft and they would charge me.

Sounds like some sort of Intel program - processor monitor, automatic
updater, or ??? so find it, uninstall it, then contact Intel for an updated
version.

Thanks for the reply

I'm not an expert at this.

I tried what you suggested and I get the following:

The following applicaiton are using files taht must be updated close these
application and click retry to continue.

Event monitor user notification tool (process ID 2676)
Live update notice service (process ID 3796)
Roxie hard drive watcher 9 (process ID 2384)

How do I do this.

Thanks for your information

It is very easy to do:-
1. open task manager
2.scroll down the processes column and look to end the specific processes. If
you can`t see the specific ones there, then click on services (at the top)
then click on services at the bottom right.
3. scroll down and when you get to the specific process click on it to
highlight it and then click on end service.(if you right click on it ,you can
end it aswell)
4.then click on ok on your repair intel viiv and it`s fixed.
5.the services should start auto when you reboot, which you must do after the
repair.
6.if your unhappy doing this you could uninstall intel viiv software
.....then go to gateway or dells website and install viiv 1.5,then go to
intels site and install viiv 1.7.
