The mysterious screen blink issue has cropped its head up on my
system.

Here's the recipe:
------------------------

1) Install Vista (any flavor), may substitute with XP.
2) Install a wireless mouse.
3 Install Intellipoint 6.2 (in an attempt to fix the cough syrup
induced mouse wheel scrolling in VS2005)
4) Install any LCD screen (well okay, a HP w2207)
5) Sit back, relax, and perhaps watch your screen blank out for 1-2
seconds, every 7-1200 seconds.
If it does not blank out, it's fixed!.

Some posts indicate you should disable the 'TMM' task from Task
scheduler (Vista). That seems to have solved the blinking issue for
many people, not me. Here's the link:

There have been several posts on this, and I spent over an hour trying
to track this down after
a one week hiatus from my system. Yeah finally looked at recently
installed apps and there sat
IntelliPoint 6.2, laughing at me while it's spaghetti stained t-shirt
undulating under the pressure of a Pork Rhine infested stomach.

The fix for me was to uninstall IntelliPoint 6.2. Side effect is
VS2005 mouse wheel scrolling will slur it's words again.

It seems Microsoft has added a *'new feature* to the mouse middle
button in IP 6.2 which seems to keep a visual
history of recently opened apps. It seems this brilliant feature
needs to frame grab every 7-1200 seconds,
hence the potential screen blink. You mileage may vary, or it may not
occur.

Huh, I am hoping MS will consider this *new feature* for Intellipoint
6.3. Have it perform a full unstoppable defrag
on every mouse move?

Perhaps I missed the method of disabling this great frame grab feature
in IP 6.2? Maybe you have to install
OS/2 Warp in a virtual machine to distract the frame grabber? All
opinions are welcome.

If you suffer from the screen blink issue, killing IP 6.2 worked for
me, or did it, yes it did.
