I just bought a new PC with vista home premium, I have installed the latest
version of intellipoint (6.3) for my wireless laser mouse 5000, however it
will not scroll in some programs e.g. Microsoft Access 2007, this used to
work fine on XP and if I connect my old wired mouse I can scroll OK, has
anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it?

Thanks

Keith

Open your Control Panel and click on the Mouse icon.
Under the Buttons tab, set the Wheel button to AutoScroll
and click Apply.

Keith

I have the same Intellpoint 6.3 and I am able to scroll tables in Access 2007 set up
in Vista.

Go to Control Panel \Mouse and do as Carey posted. Disable the feature then reboot
and then enable the feature then reboot. Does it work now

Thanks again, I changed the wheel mouse button to 'middle click' restarted
the PC then changed it to 'Auto Scroll' and still no joy, I can scroll in
Internet Explorer, Excel, Outlook with no problem but not in Access which I
use a lot, but with a wired mouse it is fine.

Do you use a wireless laser mouse too?

Try Intellipoint 6.2. I had some weird issues with Intellipoint
6.3 and 64 bit Vista Ultimate using my Trackball Explorer. I
reverted to 6.2, and it has worked flawlessly since. It may
not cure your problem, but anything is worth a try.

Thanks for that, I un-installed 6.3 and have tried 6.1 & 6.2 but
unfortunately I get the same result, it's strange because if I connect it
back to my old XP system it works fine, maybe it's a Vista glitch?

Good Moring Keith,

I solved the Intellipoint problems on all our computers by switching to
Logitech MX400 Performance Laser mice. By switching, it solved all our mouse
related problems in all our software.

I have found the scroll in my wireless mouse works fine WITHOUT the
intellipoint (or any) software installed. I have talked to others who seem
to have more problems (Vista) with the software installed. Unfortunately
uninstalling it can be hard... it has a sticky factor.
