Interactive Services problem

I have just installed an HP Laserjet 1018. When I run out of paper, the
printer sends my computer a message about it, which, after reloading the
paper tray, I have to click so that the print job can resume. In Vista, this
involves clicking on an Interactive Services window, which blacks out my
display for a couple of seconds, before taking me to the window I need to
click on to run my print job.

Is there any way I can disable this Interactive Services feature, or at
least, get it to stop blacking out my display?
