Interent TV not working?

I just installed Windows Media Center (Windows 7). I was able to configure
everything and it is pretty cool.
I have 2 questions
1) I see that I can schedule a TV program to be recorded in advance. is it
possible to schedule a program to be viewed in advance. for example if I
want to watch program A at 1PM and on channel 1 but then want to watch
program B on channel 2 at 2PM. can this be automated?
2) I can't seem to get Internet TV to work. I can see movies, regular TV,
videos, etc. but when I select an Internet TV program from the guide nothing
happens. what am I missing here?

You're going to need to clarify your question a little...

1. Not sure what you asking, you said you understand that you schedule
recording, but then are asking if you can set a show up to record in
advance? All you do is go through the guide, find the show you want and hit
the record button on the remote or right-click the mouse and choose
"Record". You can set up as many TV shows as you wish, as long as they don't
conflict with one another (if you only have one tuner). You computer needs
to be on (or in a suspended state that it can wake up from to record the
show).

2. Do you see a list of shows and they don't start or you don't see any
shows listed?

1) actually i would just want to schedule viewing the show without recording
it. my current settop box allows me to schedule the shows that i would like
to watch (without recording) in advance
2) i see the internet TV shows (MSNBC, MLB, Action Sport, etc.). but nothing
happens when I select one to view
