Intermittant sound

I'm using WLM on my PC with XP, it's a rather old PC with only a 350MHz
processor and 320MB RAM. The picture quality is fine, but the sound is poor
quality and intermittant both ways. I've tried all the set up adjustments but
it will not improve it. Could it be my processor is not fast enough? Is there
any way I could have a poorer quality picture and better sound? I've tried a
borrowed laptop on my broadband connection and that works fine on WLM. Thanks
for any suggestions (but not get a new PC!)

Yes most likely the proc is your problem. I have tried other PCs with similar specs /w
Messenger voice conversations and the performance was not usable. However, they weren't on
broadband and this wasn't recent.

350Mhz is basically scraping the end of the barrel in terms of Windows Live Messenger system
