intermittent wireless internet connection

      07-21-2008
if my notebook is newly turned on, i have wireless internet, after an hour or
two, i get disconnected. i have a desktop at home which never loses the
connection.

how can i solve this issue?

It may be your router. You don't give any details at all about your
computer or how you connect to the internet.

--thanks for the reply.
i have an hp pavilion dv9000 notebook pc. the wireless card came with the
notebook. my isp is comcast.
i used to connect to my linksys router wireless for the past few weeks and
it worked fine. my other pc is connected wirelessly also and it odes not have
that problem.

If the machine behaves that way with all wireless networks (and you need to
check) and not just yours, this may be a hardware fault. See the HP
information about repair and extended warranty here:

Try changing the channel you use. Someone in the area may have just go
some wireless device. If people use the same channel it can interfear
