I've got a serious problem that I'm hoping someone can shed some light on.
IEv6 (I've already uninstalled v7) opens, but won't access the net. Firefox
opens (shows up in task manager) but won't display - process can't be ended.
System Restore opens (shows up in Task Manager) but won't display - process
can be ended. Wavelab opens but hangs when trying to access FreeDB. McAfee
Security Centre (latest version) won't open and produces an error message.
Outlook Express opens but can't connect. A couple of days earlier I installed
four optional updates, including Root Certificates, Network Diagnostic tool,
Daylight Savings time, and one other (can't remember). Two of these four I
was able to remove via Add/Remove programs, but all above issues remain.
Completely disabling McAfee doesn't help, but even when it was still enabled,
it couldn't interface with Outlook Express. I'm writing to this forum because
I've run out of ideas. I've seen one other post alluding to the Root
Certificates Update as the cause, but I'm not sure that's the cause of my
problem. Any thoughts?
