Hi Mike,
So resetting the power on the modem resolves it? That would seem to indicate
a problem with the modem, not the computer.
On the pc side, steps I would take include:
- Updating/reinstalling network card drivers, best done with drivers from
the manufacturer, not windows update or the pc maker.
- rebuilding the tcp stack and flushing the resolver cache from an elevated
command prompt, ie:
-- ipconfig /flushdns
-- netsh winsock reset (requires a reboot sometimes)
If those fail, then you may need to replace the network card.
