Internet Connection Intermittent

Hi
I have Vista Business and IE 7

All has been working well with the internet connection on a small
network until the past few weeks where I am required to go to a web
page three times (all the time) until it is displayed.

I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" once, then click
search bar again twice (same message), then click search bar again the
third time then the page displays. Mostly this happens or I get the
page displayed first time (but rarely)

I click on diagnose problems sometimes and get "Windows Found a
Problem that Cannot be repaired Automatically" (What might this
problem be and how can I troubleshoot?)

Other machines on network have XP with no problems with the shared
ADSL modem/router?

Thanks
Dominic

Make sure any required codecs have been installed such as the JAVA SE
Runtime and Adobe Flash Player.

How do "I make sure" ie. How do I find out if they are installed?

Dominic

I am having the exact same issue, it will intermittently say "Internet
Explorer cannot display the webpage" but as soon as i reload the page
it will work. This happens on all different webpages, this happened to
me once on XP and i reinstalled and it fixed it but now its happening
on Vista Ultimate 32 bit, i really dont want to reinstall. Anyone
have any ideas? Everything is up to date and I have the most current
flash and java (although i dont see why those would cause this issue
anyways)

Did you figure this out? My new laptop with Vista is doing the same
thing.
If it has something to do with downloading Java, how do I do that if I
cannot connect???
Thanks!

No I have not figured this out.

I am calling on all MCSE's to help if they are worth the paper their
names are printed on. In fact I challenge any MSCE to figure this one
out and I will publicly in this forum give them the praise they
deserve.

I still have intermittent internet connection while other on network
do not who are on XP machines while I am on Vista Business.

Regards
Dominic

I was in a hotel recently and had that intermittent connection also.

I ended up calling the ISP and the rep told me that they have experience
with Vista not working well with their system.

Ok I actually want to ask "real" Microsoft Helpers ie. those excellent
Microsoft employed techies who scroll the news groups - please help.

To help in the matter I have uninstalled Virus Software and Installed
Firefox and have the same problem with Firefox. I also upgraded the
network card driver which is an Intel card and it is working fine.

Still intermittent internet connection - all is well with other XP
clients on network - what is the problem?

Dominic

You miss the point.

A Microsoft Certified System Engineer is to information technology
as a MacDonalds Certified Food Specialist is to the culinary arts.

There; reality has caused you to solve your own problem. So what's your next
step?
