internet disconnection

ok heres my prob.

every version above 8

causes my internet to disconnect.

there are 4 computers on my network, 2 running xp, 2 running vista, and i
have the same problem on all of them. i still cant figure out whats doing it.

im going to assume its something to do with the network, but i still cant
fix it

anyone help?

and screw the msn team for making the upgrade mandatory. cause it obviously
dont fukin work for me

thought i should mention that it sometimes does last, some times itll disc
after 1 min, sometimes after three hours. but the time b4 disc always gets
smaller each time.

and just another big finger for the mandatory upgrade. since i was quite
happy using 7.5.

Greetings shade,

What you're describing is usually a problem with you broadband modem. Unfortunately they
don't often update the firmware on said modems, so you may be out of luck.

Your best bet for the time being may be to downgrade to the new version MSN Messenger 7 with
the security fix and then engage compatibility mode to run it in the newer operating systems.

To do so, download from here:
http://microsoft.com/downloads/detai...4-9505f47bed45

Then to engage compatibility mode, go to the \Program files\MSN Messenger folder, right click
on the msnmsgr.exe file, choose
Properties, then the Compatibility tab, choose Windows 2000, click OK and then run Messenger
as per normal.

Ive got the exact same problem!

strange thing is- each time i open windows live messenger its taking longer
and longer for my internet to go down- surely its not in a networks ability
to 'get used' to a program it dosnt agree with?
