Hi:
I have been having in the past 6 months many problems with windoze xp pro
sp2 updates on several computers. Usually, the problems were caused by
windoze corrupting the registery or I have to disable the McAfee virus
checker for the install to work. Now on two separate XP Pro computers, I
have the informative diagnostic for the recent IE 7 patch that the update is
unable to install.
I have gone through all the tech support routines for updates such as
deleting the temporary files and registering the dlls, so many times, and
they never have solved the problem.
I am somewhat fed up with this sloppy programming on MS and I think it is
deliberate to encourage users to migrate prematurely upwards to Vista. I am
just going to turn the windows updates off, until MS gets its act together.
I just don't have the time to be messing with these problems every other
week.
Best wishes,
Pete
