I have IE 7 on all three of my computers. Two of them are running Windows XP,
and one is on Vista. They are all the business-grade operating systems. For
some strange reason, the IE 7 that is installed on my Vista OS has some
really strange quirks. It's almost as if I have two IE programs installed.
When I open IE, my home page pulls up. If I type in a search, or a URL in the
address bar, instead of opening in the same window, a new window is opened.
If I have opened a window from a link in another program, it works like it
should, until I type in the URL of my home page, and then a different window
opens up with my home page. And, to make things stranger, they even keep two
completely separate histories of pages visited. The IE that works with my
home page, only keeps a history of any page visited that has the same initial
URL as my home page. And the other window that opens up will keep a separate
history of all the other pages that are visited. Is anyone else aware of an
issue similar to this? Does any one have a solution about how to change it so
that it operates as expected? I would really appreciate any help at all.
