Internet Explorer 7 hangs when shut down

It happens more and more often that Internet Explorer 7 hangs when I shut it
down.
I then have to kill it.
Any suggestions?

Have you installed any add ons recently? Flash Player is known to not be
compatible, try installing latest version or disable it if its currently
installed from Tools > Manage Add-Ons.

If that does not work, try resetting your Internet Explorer settings > go to
Tools > Options > Advanced > under 'Reset Internet Explorer settings >
Reset.

Try disabling them one at a time so you can possibly find out the cultprit
that has been crashing the system.
