Hi,
I have a problem with internet explorer 7. The internet work fine but when I
try to close the browser's windon it appears me the error message "Internet
explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close". This problem was not
with the Internet 6. This happens only with Internet explorer 7. Can anyone
heplp me with this problem?

I am getting the same problem as well. I downloaded the patches
"WindowsXP-KB917425-x86-ENU" and "IE7-KB928089-WindowsXP-x86-enu" and these
had no effect. Does anyone have a clue. Do we have to uninstall IE7 and
reinstall. Comments please

Sorry about the blank answer. I know of two causes for the vast majority of
such problems:
1. Incompatible add-ons: What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop
and choose Start Without Add-ons?
Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet
Explorer (No Add-ons).

2. Malware already installed on the computer: Help with malware

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.

It would be useful if someone could supply a list of add-ons which tend
to create problems.

Most add-ons installed before IE7 was released cause problems. A few, like
Google, released fixed versions during the beta process, but I can't
remember when. It's simple enough to test. If it were my machine I would
test by running in No-Add-ons mode and if that fixed it uninstall ALL
add-ons and reinstall the ones I really used from their Web sites. If
uninstalling then didn't work but running without add-ons did then there is
almost certainly malware installed.
