Tip: Uninstall AVG 9.0 & reboot; When reinstalling, opt for a CUSTOM install
and do NOT install Linkscanner, Search-Shield, Active Surf-Shield, Security
toolbar, or any of the email scanning components.

PS: If AVG was running in the background when you installed IE8, that alone
may have screwed the pooch.
