Internet Explorer 8 uses 2 or more Processes

When I open IE8 I have noticed it slows down considerably, I can hear my CPU
working overtime and when I open Task Manager I see IE8 has 2 or more
processes running. Also, even for the most mundane tasks at least one of the
processes is running over 100k used. Did not have this problem with IE7, I
have updated my AVG to 9.0 and running without add-ons does not fix the
situation. I've used the Fix-It tool, cleared my cache, run 3 spyware
removers and several anti-virus scans. Anything I can do to get my IE8 back
to using one process at a normal rate?

Always state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista 64-bit SP2;
Win7 RC; Win7) when posting in a forum or newsgroup. Please do so in your
next reply.

Tip: Uninstall AVG 9.0 & reboot; When reinstalling, opt for a CUSTOM install
and do NOT install Linkscanner, Search-Shield, Active Surf-Shield, Security
toolbar, or any of the email scanning components.

Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email

PS: If AVG was running in the background when you installed IE8, that alone
may have screwed the pooch.
