I am having a heck of a time with IE in that if I uninstall Flash (so that I
don't have to deal not only with flash ads, but the audio that some have)
then I am not able to go anywhere with IE...if I reinstall it, then I can
browse just fine...It should be noted that IE IS NOT my default browser, and
I only use when the site I am going requires it, for example, netflix...

Is there not a way to disable flash and still use IE?...I have flash
disabled by default in Firefox, but I can use it when I want to, when
needed...

I initially thought maybe something in IE had gotten corrupted, but I have
not been able to locate where I can download and reinstall IE...the MS
website states it is part of Vista, and is therefore already installed...

I'm hoping I don't have to totally reformat/reinstall Vista just to
fix/repair/correct this issue, so any and all assistance would be greatly
appreciated...

Flash is an 'add-on' and in that respect IE is identical to the Firefox
method of disabling Flash temporarily. See IE, Tools menu, "Manage Add Ons"
Defender will also do the job with its "Software Explorer" tool.
