Internet Explorer & Rollover Text & Buttons

I have just had to change all of my Rollover Text & Buttons, created in
Dreamweaver MX, that I HAD on my website & had to change Rollover Text &
Buttons all due to your MS UPDATES.

I created my business website using Dreamweaver MX & all my Rollover Text &
Buttoms. All of a sudden when I got on line to look at my site now when I
move my cursor over a flash button or flash text a grey border appears around
the object and a message "click to activate this control" appears and you
have to double click the object to action it. My customers had to do the
same!!!!
I had to go to Macromedia to understand this problem MS made. Macromedia's
support site & have a fix for this but it would have taken 16 Plus hours to
recode my links to make My Rollovers to work.

SO!!!!!! I have spent over 8 hours taking off the Rollovers & replace them
with regular links. This is unacceptable as this fix cost me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Money. I can imagine what this has cost others!!!!!!!!!!! I am an Access
Database developer & website developer & charge out at $125.00. My estimate
is this has cost me over $1000.00 in lost revenue time & money to fix this
problem Microsoft has created due to not being more diligent with its Updates
releases.

Is Microsoft going to fix this problem or am I going to have to limit my
site to regular links on all my sites?

I too am very frustrated with this problem! I am a webmaster of a site that
uses java for its menu buttons. I am receiving the same problems as
discussed below ever since I updated my cpu earlier this month. At first I
thought it was just me but since have had many people tell me it was
happening to them too. I've notified Apycom the company that produces the
menu system and was told there was nothing they could do.

I want to know what Microsoft is doing to solve this problem? Are they
aware of it? Are the updates on April 25th going to adress this as well as
all of the other problems?

I'm sure MS is well aware of this "problem". What you are experiencing was
done on purpose as part of the MS/Eolas patent lawsuit.

It's not a bug, it's a "feature".

not have any benefits to the end user.... I ask again Is Microsoft going to

Did you even read the article? There is nothing to fix. The new behavior
*is* the fix. MS was required to change the way ActiveX apps load because
they lost the lawsuit. They have decided to pass the buck and punish the
user by requiring an additional mouse click. If this includes your rollover
buttons, you will need to re-code. Don't expect it to change, as I doubt MS
is going to pay Eolas for licensing every copy of IE. From what I've heard,
IE7 is the same.

Yep, I read the Article. I hope Macromedia & other web development software
companies can incorporate the new code in updates to "fix" this Or maybe with
the billions of dollars MS has they can pay Eolas for licensing IE. I guess
we'll see what happens. I'll be staying away from all ActiveX until they all
get this worked out. Thanks for the information. It has helpled
considerable!!!!!
