when I try to access a specific website, the whole Internet Explorer just
closes down. It only occurs with this specific website, all the others can
be accessed normally

do not know if this is linked to the latest security update which I
downloaded from Microsoft

I can't repro any crashes or breakdowns with the site above here on
an Windows XP SP2 machine beeing updated.

So I'ld assume, that you may want to take a look into the Add Ons
installed for IE (Tools | Manage Add Ons). Disable all of them
step by step - the ones not provided by Microsoft first. Test the
behaviour of IE after each deactivation. That's how you may find
the culprit for the "break downs" you've ran into.

I find I have the same problem. One site that I have trouble accessing is
this site. IE just closes and the reporting information says it is "AppName:
iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: jscript.dll
ModVer: 5.6.0.8820 Offset: 0001be5f"

If you just started having the problem on the 15th. The updates were
installed on the 14th here. I have been using Firefox so I just noticed the
problem. Now I need to find out which update broke Internet Explorer.
