Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

My IE7.0 worked fine before. When I installed the Norton Ghost10.0(free
trial) then the mesage:"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" appears
when I start the web browser. I cannot use the IE from this PC at all. I
uninstalled Norton Ghost, "reset IE7 to the OEM setting" and restored the
system to an earlier known working date but none helped. Please advice.
