Internet Explorer Closes When Going To Windows Update

I am trying to go to Windows Update manually.

When I click on the link to go to Windows Update it redirects to
v5.windowsupdate.microsoft..etc,etc and then it closes the Internet Explorer
window and any other open IE windows.

I am running IE 6 with SP2

I have Zone Labs as a firewall, allowing cookies and popups for the site
above.

I changed the setting to http 1.1 with proxy

I added the windows sites to the trusted zones.

Any help would be appreciated!

click start, run,
type the following: net.exe stop wuauserv
click OK,
type the following: regsvr32.exe wuapi.dll
click OK,
type the following: regsvr32.exe wups.dll
click OK,
type the following: regsvr32.exe wuaueng.dll
click OK,
type the following: regsvr32.exe wucltui.dll
click OK,
type the following: regsvr32.exe MSXML3.dll
click OK,
type the following: net.exe start wuauserv
click OK
restart computer
