Hello,
I am runnng Vista and IE is misbehaving itself, going down faster than the
stocks in my portfolio. I regret that that is about all I know as nothing
specific seems to cause it other than giving it a task to do. Where do I
start on this. It has been doing it now for weeks.

Your hel much appreciated.

A good place to start would seem to be with with Firefox.

Correction: It is Explorer not Internet Explorer.

Hi, Anopheles.

You're not likely to get any help unless you give us SOMETHING to go on!
:>(

Remember: We can't see your computer, so all we know is what you tell us,
and so far, that is NOTHING!

You can start with the make and model of your computer, and exactly which
version of Vista you are running.

Then you can define "going down", which is a term that I have never heard in
connection with Windows Explorer.

Have you scanned your computer for malware? Recently?

Awaiting at least one thread that we may use to try unraveling...

Running Vista, you should be running IE7. Vista version might help, too.
Try running EI without add-ons, and see if that helps. It's in
Accesories -> System tools.
If it does, then you need to turn off some add-ons.

The other option is to reset the IE back to factory specs. That's in
Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab,
the button at the bottom. Read and heed the warnings. I like that button,
myself. I've used it a couple times.

Oh, and remove any toolbars you have installed.

No, it's called your *opinion* and one you use for anyone that disagrees
with you. It's also profanity.

Snip nonsense.

Didn't know Idaho HAD an Olympics - they certainly don't advertise it. I
will definitely be there for the Airgun Field Target State Championship
in September, though. You're welcome to join us - I finished second in
'piston' class last year - four months after I took up the sport.

What are the fault bucket details according to the Problem Reports and
Solutions control panel under "View Problem History"?
