Internet Explorer "Invalid Syntax Error"

Can anyone tell me what this means? When I try to search in the address bar
of IE, I get the message "Invalid Syntax Error" OR "Cannot find Server". It
says this page cannot be displayed. Does anyone have the solution to this
problem?

First you tell us what this has to do with Windows Update.

Nothing I guess but obviously I'm NEW at this and I wasn't sure WHERE to post
