I have Internet Explorer 8, I am continually getting "Not Responding"
notification, screen fading to white, and having to use task manager to shut
it down. The other problem I am having is when ever I do a search for
something (it does not matter what search engine I use) the page with the
results will come up, but I can not do anything with that page after that, I
can not close that tab, or click on any of the results and continue on to the
next page. I am using Windows Vista Ultimate, and I have never had this
problem before, and I have been using this setup for 3 yrs on this computer.
All of this started about 2-3 weeks ago. It is very frustraing having to use
task manager to close the program all the time after I have done a search for
something. Can any one please help me??????

Do you have the same experience when you start Internet Explorer from
the 'no add-ons' icon?

Start > type Internet Explorer in the Start Search box > click Internet
Explorer (No Add-Ons)

Do you have the same experience after you have reset Internet Explorer
settings?

"How to Reset Internet Explorer Settings"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737

Problems with Internet Explorer can also be caused by by malicious
software ('malware') that you have unwittingly installed on your computer.

No, I do not have the same problem when I run Internet Explorer with 'no
add-ons'. Does this mean I need to reset my Internet Explorer?

No, it means that one or more add-ins are causing your problem. Start IE
normally, then do Tools-Manage Add-ons (for IE8 - it might be slightly
different in 7) and disable them all.
Then add them back in one by one until you find the problem one.
