Internet Explorer shuts down at certain Web Sites

When browsing certain websites, I receive an error message that says
"Internet Explorer has encountered an error and will now close," or words to
that effect. I noticed the problem after upgrading from XP Home to XP
Professional, but I'm not sure the upgrade is connected to the problem.
Has anyone else faced anything similar? Any ideas on a solution.
