Internet Explorer ..unwanted Favorites

Window XP, Internet Explorer 6
when Microsoft Internet explorer loads, a blue box appears at the bottom of
the window which contains links such as Dating, Computers, Insurance, Music,
casino.
Links also appear under Favorites.... they can not be deleted and when I use
the X in the top right hand corner of the blue box.... the box will not close.
When Internet explorer is closed, the blue box remains at the bottom of the
screen until I log off.
How do I get rid of this Unsolicited box?
