Internet explorer update

Hi I have been trying to install internet explorer 6. It goes through the set
up then says unable to install as not all components are installed please
close everything and try again but same thing happens. Doe's anybody know why?

Give this a shot. Show hidden files, folders, and system files :

Create a folder on the Desktop and name it IEBak. Navigate to:
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Uninstall
Move *all* of the files in there to IEBak. Temporarily disable the
installed antivirus program. This may require a reboot. Do so.
After rebooting, try running the installation again.
If it successfully installs then you can delete the entire IEBak folder.
If not, move all of the files back to their original location.
Either way, post back and let us know how you make out PLUS the version
of Windows you're running.
