Internet Explorer won't open

When I try to open internet explorer a message appears saying <unknown>
caused a problem with <unknown> and <unknown> had to close. Then an internet
explorer message box appears stating that Microsoft Internet Explorer has
encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience. Can anyone help me PLEASE???????

Thanks for the reply. I reckon my problems are to do with spyware. I have
downloaded Spybot search and destory and done what it said but I still can't
open IE. My System Restore is also not working and I cannot restore to
earlier time nor can I create a restore point. Any further ideas?

Have you also checked for viruses?
