Try system restore, if necessary from safe mode. When you have Internet
access again, use the procedure as described in my post 'Problematic Updates
in Windows Vista', also in this newsgroup, to install any outstanding
updates. Do not install any optional updates or any updates for hardware
(other than for Microsoft hardware) from Microsoft - instead update these
from the hardware manufacturers website directly. I would strongly advise you
not to update the firmware for your router if it is working correctly as an
incorrect update might be the last thing that the router does.
If this doesn't work, then try again but this time install the updates one
at a time.
