When I was trying to send a specific reply in this ng, I got the
"invalid content type" error message.
What does it mean?

Harry.

It is difficult to provide a definitive answer, without details
of the rejected post. However, your headers show that you post
newsgroup messages via the NNTP Server at Aioe.org.

Aioe will reject all messages that breach their terms and
conditions. For instance, they impose strict limits on file
sizes (which prevents users from attaching files). You will find
further information at
http://news.aioe.org/index.php?terms-of-use.

Thank you for the info, Bob, but I never attach anything in
these ng's and the file size was very small.
It was about dll files and someone else's reply, containing the
same link I had used, went through with flying colors.
Maybe they are just a nasty bunch at nntp.aioe.org.

Harry.

From the headers in your starter post in this thread:

Content-Type: text/plain;
format=flowed;
charset="iso-8859-1";
reply-type=original
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
X-Newsreader: Microsoft Windows Live Mail 15.4.3502.922

So when you posted before (which we have to assume was with AIOE that
you used here since you never mentioned the NSP that produced the error
message), did you post using plain-text format (Content-Type:
text/plain)?

http://www.aioe.org/index.php?terms-of-use#d2
"Articles which include a Content-type header which is not "text/plain"
are refused, ..."

AIOE is a free NSP that is a text-only groups server (i.e., they do not
carry binary groups and also ban any HTML or binary posts and posts with
attachments since those require MIME multi-part content). You never
identified what was the content of your post, its format, and it if had
attachments.

Don't remember the content, format plain text and no
attachments.

Since the owner of AIOE is always putzing with his rejection rules and
not all may be documented (even his web pages contradict each other on
quota maximums), go ask in the aioe.* newsgroups for help or send the
NSP owner an email (see http://www.aioe.org/index.php?complaint-guide).

Thank you for your guidance.

Harry.
