invalid page fault

When I go to close a window or sometimes even a pop up I receive this message.
IEXPLORE caused an invalid page fault in module KERNELL32.DLL at 0167:bff87ede.
And then it won't let me close this window. I have to reboot. Is there anyway to repair this or just stop it from happening.
