Invalid Plugin Detected

Has anyone encountered this message when opening a PDF with adobe reader.

Hi,

Yes, when using an older non-compliant version. The current version of adobe
reader is 8.1.2 (though 8.1.1 is fine as well).

I have downloaded Adobe 8.1.2 many times and each time I get the message when
trying to read a PDF. Any other suggestions.

Hi,

Uninstall it, then check Internet Options/Programs tab/Manage addons and
disable any that are remaining. Then reinstall Adobe Reader.

Adobe 8.1.2 doesn't work for me - still says Invalid Plug-In Detected and
the program closes.
