Invalid Socket since SP1

I have a small app that I run to show my internet usage.
It connects to my ISP and shows my total usage for the month as of 12.00
last midnight plus separately today's real-time usage.
Since I have updated to SP1 I get an "invalid_socket" warning when I start
up the app.
This seems to stop the real-time usage from working but it stills collects
last nights total.
Has SP1 stopped or blocked some internet sockets?
Can they be reopened?
Thanks
Billy

I've tried this and also disabling the firewall altogether but still no joy.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
