invisible mode

in my old version of messenger I could find in the status options the
invisible mode. Can I find it in the windows live msg 8.1 ?
I would like to see who is online while my contacts don't see me as online.

In your 'status' options, select 'appear offline'.

Greetings Christine,

If you mean signing in as invisible, simply sign out of Messenger by right-clicking on the
notification area icon (by the clock) and clicking Sign Out. Then double-click on the same
icon and choose the sign in status to be Appear Offline. Then simply sign on and no one will
see you.
