Hi

I have WSUS installed on a W2K3 Domain Controller. We have created a
separate policy for WSUS and imported the wuau.adm template.

I currently have the WUServer and the WUStatusServer set to
http://xxxxxxxxxx (where xxxxxxxxx is the server name) in the "specify
microsoft intranet service update location" area of the group policy.

We had originally used the DC IP address in these fields.

The issue is that the DC and all of the clients keep setting the WUServer
and the WUStatusServer back to the IP address. I am unable to figure out why
this is happening or how to fix it.

Thanks
Rick

Perhaps try the WSUS Newsgroup
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/com...pdate_services

Hopefully crossposted for convenience.

Sounds to me like you have conflicting policy assignments... perhaps you
have applied a WSUS policy at the domain level, and then modified the
Default Domain Controller Policy and/or applied a policy to the Domain
Controllers OU?

In any event, I'd run RSOP or GPRESULT on your Domain Controller, and
identify the source of ALL policies being applied to the DC.
