Maybe the test is misinterpreting some other firewall as Norton. If the
ports listed by AS for the Windows Firewall aren't *really* open, no
communication will occur.
Just to be sure, you do have Windows Firewall configured to allow
exceptions, right? And the list shows the ActiveSync programs:
ActiveSync Application
ActiveSync Connection Manager
ActiveSync RAPI Manager
ActiveSync Service
If so, try disabling the stuff with MSCONFIG, but leaving the firewall
running. I think that it should still work. That will at least divide the
problem space in half...
