iPaq 2200 - Active Sync: "Your device was not detected"

Just bought the iPaq a few days ago. And suddenly there
was the "device not detected" problem.

What I did prior to that is :
- uninstall OmegaOne BatteryPack
- install Pocket Slides
- delete (unintentionally) the notification queues with
Pocket Mechanic.

What should be done apart from taking it to the service
centre ? Soft reset had been tried.
I suspect the source is the PDA.

PC is WinXP, ActiveSync 3.7

I ran into this in the middle of other troubles. Eventually a *full* reset
did the trick. Remember to backup first though.
