I have an Ipaq 4350 w/Pocket PC 2002, and a Compaq Presario 2529 with Win2K
installed. Active Sync is 3.7.1. Here is what happens. I boot the system
with Ipaq not in cradle. Once its up, I put it in the cradle, the laptop
sees it, launches active sync. On the Ipaq screen I see it authenticate and
log into the Ipaq. Active sync on the Ipaq says it is connected and trying
to sync with the desktop pc. The active sync window on the Win2k laptop
says "Connecting.." still. Eventually, the sync on the Ipaq fails and I get
an error message on the Ipaq saying "Connot start communications with the
desktop computer. Reconnect device, if problem persists, see Microsoft
Active Sync Help". All this time, the active sync on the laptop is still
spinning away saying "Connecting..."
I am using USB connections. I have tried removing and re-installing active
sync on the laptop, with no difference. The fact that I see it authenticate
and log in, I assume my USB connection is fine. Why is it that the active
syn on the win2k laptop never connects? Anyone seen this before?!
