iPods don't work following August Security Updates

I installed the recent Windows and Office updates for August, there were 14
in total. Following that neither of my son's iPod Shuffle or Nano's are
recognizable by iTunes. Anybody else experiencing a problem? Do they know
which specific update it is?

Tried downloading/installing the latest iTunes?

I just bought the second generation of Ipod Shuffle and Nano as well as other
ipod shuffle the same of a mathcbox. The 3 others worked but the ipod shuffle
matchmabox size, new generation, will now allow me to download directly to
itunes in apple.com.

This second generation does not come with a CD --- remastered hype said one
can go directly to apple.com and download ituned for free. I have been
wrestling with the problem for days and finally went to an apple store. They
could not figure out the problem and replaced it. The newly replaced ipod
shuffle still has the same problem.

I am tired of going back and forth to the store, and if you can find a
solution, please post it and I will try it with mine. Thanks.

Worried,

I had a totally different problem and eventually with enough updates got
things working. I suggest perhaps upgrading to the Nano if you can't get past
the problems. No point in bashing your head/apple against a wall.
