items not fitting the screen

my computer updated last night and nothing is fitting my screen. i have a 17
inch HD moniter wide screen. the only thing that fits from one side to the
other is my tool bars. i can not get a true full screen when watching movies.
i have went to screen display settings and none of it fits. i have tried auto
screen nothing. i need to know how to fix this. it was working fine last
night. i am using windows vista basic

So did you install a graphic's card update or some driver update?
Have you tried a system restore.
It is recommended that you don't download driver's from the WU site and
obtain them if they are needed directly from the manufacturer's site.

Please advise what updates you installed.
