Ive got a problem selecting a desk top background for vista!

Hello there people,
Ive got windows vista home premium,And I cant select a picture to be set on
my desktop! its driving me nuts! when I shut the pc down the picture flashes
up for about 2 secs before it shuts down! also I am not getting a little
preview box of pics in my folders! very strange!! Im thinking I should of
stuck with xp at this rate!
can any body help please!

Try updating your Graphics Drivers.

If you right click and select desktop background, and it doesn't set, as
mentioned it may be the drivers, or your system specs may not support the
picture you send.
