I've tried all f the error code resolutions in windows help but no

I recently installed windows again, and the first thing i did was to install
sp2, then, after the reboot, i installed every available update in one go.
Now, windows update gives me the error code: 0x800A0046, and i have tried
every resolution on the windows help site, none worked. Also, my network
connections have disapeared but when i open internet explorer the dial dialog
box still appears, so it's still there, i just can't see it. Anyone have/had
these problems?

There are many posts in this newsgroup about that error, many containing
very good suggestions on resolving it. The above is just one of those.
If the above doesn't work, it would help to know what you have done thus
far to resolve the issue (saying you've tried every resolution doesn't
tell us much <g>).
