japanese Vista home basic upgrade to Ultimate version

Hi!
i bout a PC from japan last year.and OS is japanese VISTA HOME BASIC.because
my japanese is not so well,so i want to change OS system.can i upgrade my
japanese vista home basic to vista ultimate version?
if ok, how should i do?please help me?
